**Lesson Plan: Health Habits - Care of Nose II**
**Grade Level:** Nursery 1
**Duration:** 30 minutes
**Topic:** Care of Nose II
**Objectives:**
1. Students will understand the importance of keeping their nose clean and healthy.
2. Students will learn simple steps to take care of their nose.
3. Students will practice habits that keep their nose clean.
**Materials Needed:**
- Picture cards of nose care (e.g., blowing nose, not picking nose)
- Tissue paper
- Wet wipes
- A mirror
- Song or rhyme related to nose care
- Hand sanitizer
**Introduction (5 minutes):**
1. Greet the students warmly and gather them in a circle.
2. Start with a short song or chant about healthy habits to grab their attention.
3. Introduce the topic for the day: "Today, we are going to learn more about how to take care of our noses!"
**Activity 1: Discussion and Demonstration (10 minutes)**
1. Show picture cards of children engaging in positive nose care activities (e.g., blowing their nose with a tissue, washing face, using hand sanitizer). Hold each card up and ask the students what they see.
Example: "What is this boy/girl doing? (Students respond) Yes, they are blowing their nose with a tissue. Very good!"
2. Demonstrate each activity using the materials. For example, show them how to gently blow their nose using tissue paper, and then properly dispose of the tissue.
- Blowing nose with a tissue: "Hold the tissue, cover your nose, and gently blow."
- Use of wet wipes: "Sometimes, our nose might get dirty. We can use wet wipes to clean it carefully."
- Importance of hand sanitizer: "After we clean our nose, we should always sanitize our hands to keep them germ-free!"
**Activity 2: Interactive Practice (10 minutes)**
1. Provide each child with tissue paper and guide them through blowing their noses. Ensure each child has a turn to try the steps demonstrated.
2. Hand out wet wipes and allow the children to practice wiping their noses gently. Encourage them to look in the mirror while doing this to ensure cleanliness.
3. Offer hand sanitizer after each practice session to reinforce the habit of keeping hands clean.
**Activity 3: Song or Rhyme Time (5 minutes)**
1. Teach them a simple, catchy rhyme or song about nose care. For example:
Tune: "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star"
"Blow, blow, blow your nose,
Gentle, gentle, like the breeze,
Use a tissue, don't forget,
Keep your nose all clean and neat!"
2. Sing it together a few times to reinforce the message.
**Closure (5 minutes):**
1. Summarize key points from the lesson: "We learned how to blow our nose, use wet wipes to clean it and always remember to use hand sanitizer after!"
2. Give each child a sticker or small reward for participating.
3. Remind them to practice these nose care habits every day.
**Assessment:**
- Observe students during the activities to ensure they understand and can independently follow the steps taught.
- Encourage them to demonstrate the steps to a partner or at home to a family member.
**Follow-Up:**
- Send a note home with simple steps for nose care for parents to reinforce at home.
- Plan a short follow-up activity in the next class to review and reinforce the nose care habits learned.
